Who We Are

MOVE Ireland is a registered charity whose mission is to promote the safety and wellbeing of women and their children who have experienced violence and abuse in their intimate relationships, and to hold men accountable for their abusive behaviour in those intimate relationships. We deliver the CHOICES Domestic Violence Perpetrators Intervention Programme, which challenges men to take responsibility for their abuse, to change their attitudes and behaviour, and to develop respectful, non-abusive relationships. The programme is a Department of Justice approved group work programme that is delivered nationally by MOVE Ireland facilitators.

Use of Your Personal Information

MOVE Ireland collects and uses personal information to deliver its service. This information is stored securely and MOVE Ireland does not transfer any of this information to third parties without your prior permission.

MOVE Ireland will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or to protect the personal safety of users of MOVE Ireland, or the public.

MOVE Ireland deliver programmes throughout Ireland to address domestic violence against women.

Accuracy of Your Personal Information

Please keep us up to date with any changes to your personal data, this allows us to ensure your personal data is kept accurate and up to date.

We may collect and process the following personal data;

Through the provision of our programmes, we may collect the following details;

Name, email address, business or home address and telephone number, IP address, PPSN, DOB, employment details, or other identifiers.

Our programmes, counselling services & website referral system may also collect extensive information relating to personal data including sensitive personal data (special category data – see below) which is necessary for the provision of those services, this may also include information relating to third parties such as family members and partners. This information is processed with care and the appropriate technical and organisational measures applied.

Job applications

Should you apply to work at MOVE Ireland we collect personal information from you such as; Name, Contact Details, CV’s education and employment history.

Suppliers

We collect personal data relating to suppliers of services in order to conduct business, this information includes, name, email address, business address, phone number.

Special Categories of Personal Data

As part of our programmes and in order to provide our services, it is necessary to process special category data including medical information and in some cases criminal offences. We carry out this processing as is required by us by law and the information is processed with care with the appropriate technical and organisational measures applied.

Our Legal Basis for Processing

We are required to determine the legal basis for which we process different categories of your personal information, and to notify you of the basis for each category. Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

Information we process for the performance of tasks in the Public Interest

As a registered Charity which is governed by the Charities Act 2009, we are obliged to ensure that our activities only advance charitable purpose and that we act only for a purpose that is of benefit to the community; in performing our charitable purpose we are performing a task in the public interest.

Information we process because we have your consent

Where you participate in our programme we require your explicit consent to the processing of personal data, data relating to criminal convictions and special category data. You may withdraw your consent at any time by instructing us at dataprotection@moveireland.ie. This will also result in your withdrawal from the programme.

Information we process because we have a legal obligation

We may be required to give information to legal and regulatory authorities if they so request and subject to the correct authorisation. We have obligations under Irish legislation through the provision of our services, to process your data and where necessary share that information.

Information we process because we have a contractual obligation with you

In order to carry out our obligations under a contract, such as a suppliers contract, we must process the information you give us. Some of this information may be personal information. Should you apply for a job with us we will process your personal data on a precontractual basis.

Information we process for the purposes of legitimate interests

We may process information on the basis there is a legitimate interest, either to you or to us, of doing so. Where we process your information on this basis, we do so after having given careful consideration to:

• whether the same objective could be achieved through other means
• whether processing (or not processing) might cause you harm
• whether you would expect us to process your data, and whether you would consider it
  reasonable to do so.

For example, we may process your data on this basis for the purpose of necessary administration of our business.

Retention of Data

MOVE Ireland shall process and store your personal data only for the period necessary to achieve the purpose of storage.  After this time, your information will be destroyed.

Data Transfers

MOVE Ireland do not transfer your data outside the EEA. Should a circumstance arise where it is deemed necessary for us to transfer your data outside the European Economic Area (EEA) we will only transfer data to receivers that are in countries approved by the EU Commission, or where there are the appropriate safeguards in place to protect your personal data. Sharing Your Data

Any third parties that we may share your data with are obliged to keep your details securely, and to use them only to fulfil the service they provide us on your behalf.  We use third-party service providers such as cloud services for data processing purposes. These providers have their own privacy policies in respect to the information  and you may read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled.

We also use third party platforms / software that help us to delivery our services to you such as referral form plug ins. This data is stored in accordance with GDPR requirements and is protected by 256-bit bank grade encryption.

We have reviewed all third parties we share your data with to ensure they are aware of their responsibilities under the GDPR. We are required by legislation to report welfare concerns to the appropriate bodies using mandated report forms.

Security of Your Personal Information

MOVE Ireland takes all reasonable steps to secure your personal information from unauthorised access, use or disclosure and secures the personally identifiable information that you provide in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorised access, use or disclosure. This includes but it is not limited to;

• Policies, guidelines and procedures governing information security.
• Password protection for computer access.
• Automatic locking of idle PCs.
• Appropriate virus-checking software and firewalls used to protect integrity and security of electronically processed data.
• Restricted access based on a need to know basis.
• Encryption of data held on portable devices.
• Data breach procedures.
• Adequate physical security.
• Staff / user training and awareness.
• Controlling physical access to IT systems and areas where paper-based data are stored.
• Clean desk policy.
• Back-ups in place of data off-site.

Your Rights Regarding Data Stored About You by MOVE Ireland

• You have the right to find out what, if any of your personal data is held by MOVE Ireland, and for what purpose we are holding this information and to be given a copy of the information held (subject to certain exceptions).

• You have the right to have your information updated or rectified if it is incomplete or incorrect.

• You have the right to have any of your personal data held by us erased.

• You have a right to restrict the processing of your personal data.

• You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data.

• You have the right to withdraw consent, previously given, to process your personal data.
